Position Summary
The Enterprise Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for architecting, managing, and optimizing the organization’s database environments. This role involves significant involvement in database design and architecture, with an ability to work with both on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
Essential Duties
- Leads the design and implementation of scalable and reliable database architectures that meet organizational needs.
- Administer and optimize cloud-based databases on platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Manage and optimize ETL processes to ensure data integrity and efficient data flow between systems.
- Continuously monitor and tune database systems to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Develop and manage backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for all databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust security controls for all databases, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA.
- Work closely with IT, development teams, and business units to provide database solutions that support business intelligence and data analytics initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database architectures, processes, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 8 years in database administration with a significant focus on architecture and cloud-based solutions.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Proficiency in SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and Tableau Server Administration, with preference given to those with experience with Health Catalyst architecture and tools, and cloud database management. Advanced skills in database design, data modeling to the 3rd normal form, and SQL Server maintenance. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for database management and architecture. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data protection regulations.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000
