About the team:

The team specialize in engineering data management. Our mission is to empower our clients by providing expert data handling, cleansing, and reporting services to streamline their engineering projects. This role involves processing and preparing data received from clients, ensuring it's in the best possible format for project teams.

About the role:

As an Engineering Data Technician, you will be responsible for managing large sets of engineering data arriving in various formats. You will take ownership of the first phase of data preparation, cleansing, and manipulation before passing the processed data to the project teams. You will also ensure that data is securely controlled, adhering to strict standards and procedures while maintaining an audit trail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process and prepare incoming engineering data from various formats (Excel, Access, etc.) for our in-house software.
  • Implement standard procedures for the import and export of client data.
  • Support the development of comprehensive reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS) to manage and manipulate data.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of data processes to align with company standards.
  • Maintain high-quality data management by documenting procedures and establishing audit trails.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure timely and efficient data handling.
  • Develop and enhance existing tools and techniques to improve company performance.



Requirements
  • Experience with data import/export tools (e.g., SSIS) and reporting tools (e.g., SSRS).
  • Knowledge of data manipulation, especially within engineering contexts.
  • Experience with handling large datasets in various formats (Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to create and maintain data processing procedures.
  • Familiarity with developing and producing reports for clients and internal use.
  • A proactive attitude towards solving technical issues and improving processes
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
