Position Description

Serco-NA is actively seeking a motivated individual to provide Database Administration support to the United States Air Force Civil Engineering NexGen project. In this role, you will work with our dynamic NexGen team to support critical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities for the Air Force customer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful development, analysis, and deployment actions to the Air Force Civil Engineering community across more than 200 bases worldwide.

 

In support of this effort the Database Administrator will work as part of a team providing a variety of tasks to the USAF Civil Engineering community to include system administration, virtual machine creation, system monitoring, complex SQL and compliance checks.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage Oracle databases
  • Ability to work with multiple internal and external organizations to resolve technical and other customer related problems, multitask, meet deadlines, and set priorities
  • Advance experience in MS Excel with knowledge of complex formulas and macro creation
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes
  • Monitor system's health and performance
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
  • Create and maintain SQL scripts and assists in Oracle DB maintenance
  • Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting with PSIM and PSIM related issues
  • Work alongside System Engineering and Development teams to develop process improvements
  • Create SOP’s and documentation for work completed
  • Review Admin Logs to find root cause
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fundamentals of programing logic
  • Ability to work with diverse skill sets
  • Experience with government cyber security principles
  • Understanding of network principals

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High School diploma and 8 years of Orcale experience
    • OR Bachelor’s/Associates degree and 2 years of Orcale experience 
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Security + certification within 90 days of hire 
  • Ability to create Standard Operating Procedure documentation for designs and implementation strategies of new hardware and software deployment.
  • Possible 10% local travel

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of IBM TRIRIGA software
  • Knowledge of Air Force Civil Engineering practices and policies

 

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $91,701.62 to $152,836.04; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
