People Analytics & Insights within HR are playing a pivotal role in enabling the modernisation of data capabilities and intelligence at the BBC. Developing and implementing the systems, processes and data which underpin resource scheduling is a key, BBC-wide program of work.

The role of Principal Data Analyst is pivotal in transforming the coverage and interoperability of our workforce analytics, built through effective partnerships and enterprise thinking, in order to deliver an extended suite of data and insight products alongside our existing capabilities. Supported by the Senior Principal Data Analyst, you’ll collaborate with HR Business Partners and BBC business units to discover, define, design, and implement both operational and analytical reporting across the entire resource scheduling lifecycle. You will play a key role in developing a strategic operational data capability, fully integrated with the existing HR People Analytics function.
In this role, you’ll be involved in all stages of the data product lifecycle. This includes identifying and analysing data sources, designing conceptual and physical data models, defining business-relevant measures and attributes, and producing deep dive analysis and operational reporting.
You’ll take ownership of implementation and adoption, working closely with teams across technology, product, and systems to ensure that processes, systems, and data products are effectively planned, developed, and delivered.
You’ll also be responsible for communicating insights and analysis generated from the data products you’ve built with key stakeholders from within the business, playing a vital role in supporting strategic changes to operational practices.
