Data Analyst - Payments experience

In this role, you will deliver accurate, timely insights and robust data solutions that support mission‑critical platforms. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate loosely defined requirements into reliable technical solutions, support major platform initiatives and respond quickly to urgent analytical needs — all while maintaining high standards of quality and continuous improvement.

• Develop and maintain mission‑critical information extraction, analysis and data management systems
• Provide direct and responsive support for urgent and high‑priority analytical requests
• Participate in architecture and software development activities supporting platform upgrades and project delivery
• Translate loosely defined or evolving requirements into practical, repeatable data solutions
• Use appropriate technologies and tools to deliver project‑specific use cases and bespoke workflows
• Apply coding or scripting methodologies to automate processes and resolve data‑related challenges
• Collaborate with technical and project colleagues to design solutions for complex infrastructure, security or development requirements
• Perform incremental testing on code, processes and deployments to improve reliability and reduce execution errors

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
• A strong commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with evolving data and technology trends

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to apply structured and logical thinking
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Strong planning, prioritisation and project coordination capabilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative, multi‑disciplinary teams
• A client‑focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence and high‑quality delivery

• Experience within payments, acquiring or merchant services, with familiarity across POS and eCommerce solutions
• Proven experience working in database environments, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, with strong SQL skills
• Hands‑on experience with coding or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or similar
• Practical exposure to ETL processes and broader data integration approaches
• Experience using BI and data visualisation tools, such as Power BI or Tableau
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure or AWS) and modern data architecture pattern
• Prior involvement in infrastructure upgrades or large‑scale technology project rollouts
• Exposure to automation, scripting frameworks and CI/CD practices for deployment and testing
