General Summary


The Data Analyst II is responsible for translating data into actionable insights for key decision makers throughout the company. Using a data-driven mindset, the analyst will support initiatives to improve internal processes and provide solutions by converting data into useful information. The Data Analyst II will work with a team of analysts and other key stakeholders to develop reports and other tools to improve work efficiency for end users.


Essential Job Functions


•    Performs analysis, reporting and visualization of data to support decisions within different areas of the company.

•    Follows industry standard practices for data analytics.

•    Creates and maintains dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using interactive data visualization software.

•    Builds automation and additional efficiencies into manual reporting efforts.

•    Collaborates with end users on design and development of solutions.

•    Understands business processes and underlying data and reporting needs.

•    Supports the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new reporting requirements and Key Performance       Indicators (KPls).

•    Transforms and repairs new and existing data sets to be leveraged in analytical models.

•    Conducts complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

•    Presents content to users of business intelligence tools and provides suggestions on the best way to utilize data analysis tools to enhance daily operations.

•    Monitors current data analysis tools and provides technical expertise to troubleshoot and improve data visualizations and reports.

•    Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.

•    Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.

•    Perform other duties as assigned. 



Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


•    Experience developing business intelligence reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power Bl.

•    Applied experience in data modeling and the ETL process.

•    Ability to interpret database structures and understand the underlying relationships and dependencies.

•    In depth knowledge of data preparation and transformation tools (Power Query, Looker, etc.)

•    Effective written and verbal communication to effectively relate data to business users.

•    Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

•    Ability to work independently with limited oversight.

•    Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.


Education and Experience


•    Bachelor's degree in data science/analytics, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, management  information systems and two (2) years of data analytics experience, or an associate degree and four (4) years of data analytics experience, or a high school diploma and six (6) years of data analytics experience.

•    Power BI certification is a plus.

•    MRP and/or ERP experience is a bonus (Deltek, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc).

•    Manufacturing and/or aviation experience is a plus.
