Job Purpose and Impact

The Data Analyst will work as part of a cross-functional team to translate business outcomes into refined requirements, data models, and data transformation documentation which are used in the development of complex reporting and analytical solutions. In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams at the business group, enterprise and global level to deliver moderately complex analytical solutions to address business needs. You will enable the broader organization's focus on insights by maximizing the value of our data and digital core investments.


Key Accountabilities


  •  Identify and analyze business needs, gather requirements and define the scope and objectives to drive business decisions.


  • Translate business needs into concrete data requirements through data mapping/translation documents, defining data profile and quality minimums, and defining specific transformation and/or calculation logic.




  • Work with large datasets to profile, scope and validate data completeness / quality.




  •  Build and maintain product level data models and supporting documentation, leveraging company or business level domain models as appropriate.




  • Partner to support business teams through data validation and sign-off processes during testing activities.




  • Partner with peers to complete analysis in collaboration with process and operations leadership to identify the top opportunities for improvement to track progress and impact future results.




  • Recommend to & partner with peers to achieve process improvements related to delivery and new methodologies.




  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS




  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience




  • Minimum of two years of related work experience




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS




  • Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio




  • Ability to work with large datasets through data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation techniques






  • Strong SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and optimization




  •  Experience translating business needs into data requirements generating data mapping/translation documentation, data profile and quality minimums, and specific transformation and/or calculation logic demonstrating successful business outcomes.




  • Experience analyzing multiple business processes, the technical systems which support process execution and associated data




  • Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts




  • Knowledge of relational databases & database design principles.




  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and to synthesize requirements from multiple sources
