About the Role
The Data Analyst plays a key role in driving innovation and delivering actionable insights across TaxSlayer. We are seeking early career candidates with a strong technical foundation that enjoy writing complex SQL, building analytical datasets, and creating dashboards that enable data-driven decision making.
This role collaborates closely with analytics engineering, product, marketing, and business stakeholders to deliver accurate, scalable analyses and intuitive visualizations. The role includes a clear growth path to Senior Data Analyst, with increasing ownership of data models, analytical frameworks, and cross-functional initiatives.
What You�ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain analytical datasets and views in cloud data warehouse (Snowflake).
- Write performant SQL queries to analyze large datasets and generate business insight.
- Partner with analytics engineering to ensure data models and metric definitions align with analytic requirements.
- Translate complex analyses into clear visual insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop BI Dashboards and self-service reports that track key performance indicators and provide opportunity insights.
- Use programming languages (SQL, Python) to normalize, manipulate, and enrich datasets; automate recurring data processes.
- Maintain data governance standards across enterprise data warehouse systems and business segments.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and drivers of product and business performance.
- Document data sources, transformations, metric definitions, and analytical logic.
- Collaborate across departments to support analysis and reporting needs.

Must-Have Skills & Experience
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor�s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in FinTech, Operations, or Supply Chain data environments (highly preferred).
- Experience with cloud data tools and architecture; Snowflake preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Experience in analytic tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos).
- Experience with modeling strategies (dimensional, relational, semi-structured formats like JSON, XML).
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying large datasets.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- This is a hybrid role based in our Augusta, Ga office.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal physical demands.
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
