JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: The Human Resources Data Analyst is a vital member of the HR team, responsible for keeping employee information accurate and compliant with state reporting requirements, performing data analysis, and creating data visualizations to advance the impact of the HR team. This role blends data analytics, technology expertise, and people-centered customer support to ensure precise reporting and seamless HR operations. Ideal candidates have intermediate-to-advanced skills in Excel, Google Workspace, and Smartsheets, enjoy organizing complex information, and are motivated by work that directly supports employees across the district. Essential Job Functions: You will be responsible for compiling data from exit and stay surveys, retention metrics, focus groups, the employee database, and similar sources. You will gather data for Colorado Open Records requests and provide informed recommendations to HR Directors and the Assistant Superintendent of HR to support decision-making related to recruitment and retention strategies. You will also support data requests from other District 6 departments and update employee handbooks as Board Policies change. You will create pivot tables, charts, and leadership-ready visuals to communicate workforce and demographic data. This includes reviewing numerical information, such as staffing trends, compensation data, and incentive tracking, as well as feedback gathered from employees to help inform recommendations and decision-making.
You will accurately maintain key datasets, such as one-year-only staff and licensure expiration records, and maintain systems required for state and federal reporting, including the Colorado Department of Education personnel report. This role includes performing data entry in electronic personnel action requests and providing initial salary placements oversight. You will also collaborate with and provide back-up support for HR specialists' school sites and for leave-of-absence processing. Additionally, you will be responsible for your own specific sites hiring processes and license tracking for charter schools.
In this role, you will prepare contracts and employment notifications for new hires, ensuring compliance with human resources laws, RANDA evaluations, license/endorsements, policies, and procedures. Additionally, you will analyze candidate applications for appropriate certifications, experience, and qualifications and make recommendations for hiring decisions based on that information.
This role also requires strong critical-thinking skills to understand hiring requirements, review candidate qualifications, and ensure information is accurate for internal reviews, public records requests, and required state and federal reports. The specialist must be highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with spreadsheets, shared online workspaces, and district data systems, including tools used to maintain employee records and submit information to state agencies.
