To support our growing operations and global customer base in the marine, power generation, industrial, and metal processing industries, we are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team in Edinburgh as a Data Analyst. You will play a key role in managing and analyzing customer data to support business decisions and optimize sensor performance.
Main Responsibilities
• Manage, organize, and analyze large datasets from various sources, including customer data, sensor readings, and operational data.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in sensor performance and customer operations.
• Develop data-driven insights and reports to support decision-making for internal teams and external customers.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate key metrics and performance indicators to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the software team to improve data collection, processing, and analysis systems.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality control measures.
• Present findings and recommendations to management, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Support the development of predictive models and algorithms to optimize sensor performance and reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation in data management.
Your profile
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience working as a data analyst, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R, and experience with data visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
• Experience in managing large datasets and ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Experience in working with sensor data or in a similar technical environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
