Data Analyst - Erlanger, KY

Position Summary
The Data Analyst is a member of the pricing analytics team, developing pricing models and tools to enable the business to make data-driven pricing decisions.  The responsibilities include pricing data management, visualization/analytical tool and methodology development, tool maintenance, impact measurement, and developing/enhancing machine learning models for established and new product pricing recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • commercial minded approach understanding market economics, customer and product value in alignment with go-to-market pricing strategy
  • expertise in pricing analytics and levers relevant to B2B and B2C businesses
  • expertise in data science techniques
  • technical knowledge of platforms and software technology (Python/R, SQL Server)
  • ability to drive effective support of data analysis and model management
  • ability to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • ability to balance tradeoffs between optimizing model performance and impact to the business
  • experience with IT project management practices
  • The position is located in Erlanger, KY (Cincinnati, OH metro area)
Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Design, develop and maintain data science products, PowerBI visualizations, and dynamic ad-hoc frameworks that help commercial teams with day to day pricing and sales activity
  • Manage pricing performance discipline through continuous KPI monitoring and active coaching
  • Develop processes, guard rails, and routines to drive value for various businesses
  • Challenge existing assumptions in pricing methodologies to drive impactful change
  • Coach business leaders and managers in leveraging machine learning models for pricing
  • Develop insightful visualizations to communicate key insights to both technical and non-technical leadership
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines
  • Self-starter with continuous improvement mindset
  • Translate complex business problems into concise analysis that help drive actions
  • Partner closely with commercial, sales, finance and IT to implement and improve pricing tools
  • Build machine learning models to generate insights from past customer activity
  • Develop unit tests and integrity tests to ensure data and model accuracy
  • Coordinate all data updates with appropriate departments (e.g., marketing, sales, finance, and operations)
  • Standardize data and reporting across businesses and teams to enable consistency and quality control of key business data
  • Write optimized code improving efficiency, scalability, and stability
Requirements for this position include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience performing data mining, data analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling initiatives
  • Experience with applying data science methods to pricing and commercial business problems using the full suite of Azure tools (Azure ML, Azure Pipelines and Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with data visualization and data processing tools (e.g., PowerBI, Python/R)
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms (clustering, decision tree learning, etc.)
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and accurate usage, etc.) and experience with applications
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Experience working with sales and commercial teams to improve data accuracy and integrity preferred
