About the Research, Policy & Information (RPI) department

The Irish College of GPs views data and its analysis as essential for our health system to modernise and meet the needs of our patients and growing population. RPI activities can help these goals to be realised, and the College’s “Shaping the Future” discussion paper on the Workforce and Workload crisis in General Practice in Ireland (launched Oct 2022), holds that the Research, Policy & Information department is important to mainstreaming research in general practice and thus should be “continued and potentially expanded to maximise this benefit”.
