Role Purpose
The Commercial Analyst within our BI Team is a leader personality who can use data to challenge and provide insights on business operations and go-to-market strategies. They will be responsible for understanding & providing insight on business revenue, commercial opportunities, operations and overheads with a view to suggesting improvements and providing insight into the strategic direction of the business.
This role will develop an in-depth understanding of our global business, a strong knowledge of our SQL based ERP (Acumatica) & be able to easily display data for our team using Power BI. The role will work cross-departmentally to increase business effectiveness by creating easy to use reports and providing insights across the business.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
• Develops strong working relationships across all business departments to provide analysis on our market opportunities, sales channels, and revenue to create models & identify insights that will help shape our business strategy.
• Work closely with marketing & commercial managers and other team members in providing data-backed recommendations to support effective decision making.
• Work cross-departmentally to identify opportunities to create time efficiencies in system usage & reduce manual input through software development.
• Use Power BI to analyse and review reports on commercial data, such as sales trends, and create and provide proactive recommendations.
• Use statistical skills for financial forecasting; understand the value chain of the organisation and suggest probability forecasts.
• Provide input in budgeting and forecasting for sales, marketing and business planning to achieve organisational objectives
• Develop a strong understanding of our product driven business with a view to providing insights into the relationship between our key customers and product ranges that will drive growth.
• Update PBI Dashboards & system queries as needed to support the business.
Role KPIs
• Providing data leadership to department heads to increase their effectiveness and provide time saving solutions as we grow.
• Delivering models and insights that enable the business to grow, challenge our current assumptions and increase efficiency of operations and decision making.
• Delivering innovative ideas to the business, including new software which allows us to move effectively deliver a Seamless Customer Experience.
• Updating & maintaining existing PBI dashboards and analytics as used throughout the business
• Driving cross-departmental projects to completion and supporting the BI department pipeline to actively manage internal requests.
Skills, Experience & Capabilities
• 3 – 4 years experience in a similar data analytics role
• Bachelors degree in business or analytical field preferred
• 3 - 4 years experience using Power BI & SQL
• Highly collaborative and able to work across all functions to achieve sales and business goals
• Proactive time management & dedication to improving systems experiences with high attention to detail
• Proactive, and demonstrates a high level of self-management and initiative
• High standard of verbal and written communication skills
• (Desirable) Knowledge of a programming language such as Python, R
• Experienced Microsoft Office user skills – especially Excel
