Business Intelligence Analyst – Construction Industry

Key Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence & Data Management:
Collect, integrate, and manage large datasets from multiple sources, including financial systems, project management software, and on-site reports.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
Monitor and clean data to eliminate inaccuracies and maintain reliability for decision-making.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
Analyze project performance metrics, financial data, workforce utilization, and union payroll trends to drive strategic insights.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as budget adherence, schedule efficiency, and resource productivity.
Provide actionable recommendations to project managers and senior leadership to optimize operations and improve profitability.
Forecasting & Predictive Analytics:
Use historical data to forecast project costs, resource needs, and potential scheduling risks.
Develop predictive models to identify trends, potential delays, and cost overruns.
Support risk management by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support:
Partner with project managers, finance teams, and senior executives to translate data into meaningful business strategies.
Provide training and guidance on business intelligence tools and best practices.
Effectively communicate complex data insights in a clear, actionable manner tailored to various stakeholders.
Process Optimization & Strategic Improvements:
Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, reporting, and analysis workflows.
Implement business intelligence strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support data-driven decision-making.
Leverage automation and advanced analytics to streamline processes and enhance operational performance.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or performance management within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Experience with union payroll processes, including compliance, reporting, and data analysis.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.
Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Buildops).
Familiarity with predictive modeling and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
Communication & Collaboration:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
