Business Data Analyst

The Business Data Analyst will combine solid reporting/data gathering experience with an understanding of business principles to align them with company objectives.  A key factor to success will be making reporting accessible beyond the original applications.   Specifically, working with departments and divisions to identify information opportunities within and between applications, to enhance business performance will define success within this position.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Infor SyteLine (CloudSuite Industrial), associated development tools, and connected enterprise level systems.
• Identify potential data sources, compile/mine data from a variety of sources, perform analysis of findings and trends using statistical and/or financial analyses, modeling, etc., summarize and present findings
• Identifying novel delivery methods to share reporting from named user platforms to readily available data-marts, information kiosks, commonly accessible resources.
• Responsible for managing and respecting highly confidential information.
• Business expertise
  • Utilize experience to deliver reporting and information that can be used to make organizational and business decision.  
  • Interact with all business units to identify local and enterprise level opportunities for data analysis.
  • Investigate areas for mining data across business systems to yield process improvement opportunities.
  • Find indicators that help management to control and identify variances.
• Project Management
  • Assist CIO and other managers in completing special reporting and IS projects.   
  • Lead projects and coordinating resources (internal and external) to help the IS department identify new systems of software to improve existing processes.
• Change Control
  • Work with SyteLine users and administrators to implement programmatic changes to SyteLine using C#, considering all users and locations.
• Comp-Support Activities
  • Willingness to support the rest of the IS team by assisting on the resolution of Computer-Support requests.  Especially with ERP (Syteline)
  • Maintaining a connection to user level issues is critical to understanding and improving users overall experience with our systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by department manager.

• College degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Business Analysis/business related field.  Must have some course work relating to business to understand key related business principles.  
• 5+ years of prior Business Data Analysis experience.  Must have experience solid skills in SyteLine (CloudSuite Industrial).
• C# (C Sharp) Programming experience
• MS office and data base management principles desired.
• Experience in managing large volumes of data
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing/distribution environment is preferred
• Must be a strong critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Strong project management and task skills.
• Supporting users based outside of the US a plus.
