SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Is a senior level or lead position within the Business Analyst structure. This position leverages the return on enterprise level systems by providing technical support to analyze business processes and technology requirements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
The Business Analyst II position at the City of Tucson’s Water Department offers technical assistance to end users, maintains and updates testing, training materials, and system documentation. This role is responsible for analyzing system performance and providing recommendations for improvements around conservation, sustainability, and technology.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Water Operations Superintendent. This position does not supervise.
Oversees the operation and maintenance of enterprise-level metering applications and databases. Completes routine system duties including data loading and generating accurate reports. Performs routine data auditing activities to ensure data integrity to maintain the accuracy and integrity of current and future customer service data and operational systems.
Verifies system workflows and applications are processed in a timely manner and troubleshoots daily production system issues as they occur. Performs software and technical maintenance and makes modifications to reference tables in the network and web-based modules and systems. Oversees and authorizes system security measures, updates, and maintains system security records and permissions.
Develops system integration strategies and provides input to department leadership for improvements. Understands and updates XML programming for user interfaces and software usage.
Develops complex, non-routine reports, system integrations, system configurations, scripts, manual and automated workflow, structured query language and database management tools.
Provides guidance on system capabilities, compiles data and implements data-driven strategies for management. Analyzes departmental business obstacles and system challenges while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Troubleshoots end-user, functional, and technical problems. Serves as liaison with Information Technology, departmental staff, and vendors to evaluate, test and support new functionality, developments, and enhancements of Customer Information Systems modules or systems. Leads and trains teams on software implementations, maintenance, and upgrades. Regularly provides direction and assigns work to support staff. Reviews work to ensure accuracy.
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Mostly office environment. This position will be expected to operate a city vehicle. Must have open availability.
