Social Security Scotland currently offers a unique opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Chief Digital Office. You will work across a number of specialisms, taking responsibility for smaller to medium size initiatives and work with Senior Business Analysts on more complex activities and artefacts. 
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst to progress their career within our fast-paced design and delivery organisation. 

The Business Analysis team sits within the Service Management and Service Development branch which is responsible for the maintenance and further development of the live benefit services being delivered to clients. Our Business and Systems analysis practice will continually respond and support emerging business requirements whilst providing technical analysis of our various digital platforms.
 
We are a growing team of over 30 analysts from a variety of backgrounds and individuals joining now have the opportunity to help shape and develop our practice and ways of working.

  • B2 salary between £36585 - £41834 plus a £5000 annual Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 month qualifying period. This supplement is backdated and paid with your monthly salary.

DDaT Pay Supplement

This post attracts a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review. This post is part of the Scottish Government DDaT profession. As a member of the profession you will join the professional development system, currently BCS RoleModelplus.  
 
Hybrid Working
We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum of 2 days per week in your assigned location.  Base office location can be in either Dundee or Glasgow.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to build strong working relationships through stakeholder analysis and management, working closely with the project team to define an approach to meet the customer needs.
  • Support customers/stakeholders through transformational/change programmes.
  • Lead and deliver business analysis products for small to medium size initiatives and support on large and complex initiatives, in accordance with project requirements and overall business objectives, including pre-and post-project work such as impact analysis and benefits management.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver transformational change using Agile methodologies.
  • Support and work closely with Senior Business Analysts during large and complex projects, to define an approach to meet both customer and business needs.
  • Deliver business analysis products and outputs in accordance with project requirements and overall business objectives.
  • Apply a range of techniques to establish and analyse the current state (as is) and future state (to be) of people, organisation, processes, information, data and technology across the business.
  • Identification, analysis, capture and validation of business and user requirements.
  • Identify and analyse options to deliver enhanced outcomes for citizens and organisations through the better use of technology.
  • Work together with Senior Business Analyst to support customers / stakeholders through transformational / change programmes.
  • Supporting our business users through investigation of system issues to provide workable solutions
  • Explain, and be a persuasive advocate for the value of understanding and meeting user needs within the wider Scottish Government.
  • Actively participates in the Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Business Analysis practice events.
