The Impact you will have in this role:


 


The main purpose of this role is to collaborate with other functional representatives on an Agile delivery team to build products that end-users highly value, are consistent with the architecture design, and satisfy strategic and business objectives. The Business Analyst will lead product design discovery on projects, engage with the Product Owner and user/user proxies to slice and translate requirements into valuable offerings and drive the delivery of high-quality solutions.


The Product Management group provides overall product development & business analysis for all initiatives within the repository and derivatives product suite, however this role will be primarily focused on new initiatives related to the Trade Information Warehouse (TIW) product; a central derivatives' repository with record-keeping, lifecycle servicing, and industry event-processing capabilities.


These initiatives will be centered around bringing to bear the latest available technologies to deliver innovative solutions and functional enhancements which improve the global post-trade processing of derivative products; improving value for our users.
 


Your Primary Responsibilities:



  • Actively participates with other members of the delivery team (Product Manager, Product Owners, Information Architects, UX Designers, Mid-Tier Dev, UI Dev, QA Analysts and other BA’s) to create solutions that meet business needs in an Agile setting (i.e., scrum ceremonies, collocated team, etc.)

  • Works with the team to decompose requirements into stories, uncover associated workflows, data and business rules as well as define acceptance criteria based on real world scenarios

  • Analyzes enhancement requests and bugs to determine solutions that do not negatively impact other product features

  • Applies detailed knowledge of design principles and user needs to ensure that user interfaces are of high quality, extremely usable, perform well and are consistent across product lines

  • Conducts design walkthroughs, demos and functionality feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders

  • Determines and produces just-enough documentation for the functionality being delivered in iterations, but also compiles a running specification that serves as a functional specification for the final deliverable

  • Fosters a culture of dedication, teamwork, problem solving, and continuous improvement

  • Moves project forward by stepping into other functional roles (testing, iteration management, etc.), when applicable

  • Partners with internal customers such as Integration, the Client-Facing Documentation Team and the Client Support Team on operational readiness activities by sharing domain expertise on features and functions and uncovering operational requirements

  • Mentors/trains other new functional and delivery team members on Agile Methodology

  • Helps build BA standards and standard methodologies.

  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately


 


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
     


Talents Needed for Success:



  • 5 years Business Analysis/Solution Design/Software Development experience

  • Knowledge of post-trade processes within derivatives markets (including but not limited to confirmation, clearing, settlement or portfolio optimization)

  • Experience in Agile/scrum development methodologies and proficiency in Atlassian's JIRA (or alternative development workflow tooling)

  • Understanding of data structures and basic proficiency in SQL is preferred

  • Knowledge of scalable, cloud-based applications or architecture a plus
