The Role:
The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann.
The Asset Intelligence team’s purpose is to connect their customers with quality asset data to drive insights and support decision making. The scope of the team's responsibility covers 4 main areas: Asset Data Insights and Stakeholder Management, Asset Data Management, Asset Data Governance and Special Projects.
Reporting to the Asset Data Senior Business Partner, the Asset Data Analyst will support and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business, to understand and capture strategic requirements relating to the collection, processing, and management of asset data within Uisce Éireann’s asset management systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the collection, processing and management of asset data within Uisce Éireann’s asset management systems
- Manage a team of Asset Data Officers and Support staff
- Ensure that the asset databases in the relevant systems are maintained and are fit for purpose
- Carry out asset data quality assurance and updates in response to changes made or identified in the field
- Develop new and improve existing processes with the business to ensure effective capture of asset data
- Where appropriate provide asset data information for team members and external partners
- Contribute to the setting of operational performance indicators relating to asset data
- Ensure that processing and provision of asset information aligns with the needs of internal and external stakeholders, and is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that any required reporting is complete, timely and accurate, and that content is appropriate to users’ needs
- Where appropriate, provide guidance and assistance relating to asset data management to other team members and colleagues
- Assess integrity and completeness of all asset types such as -Sewers, Manholes, Watermains, Water Treatment Plants, Waste Water Treatment Plants, Customer Meters, Control Systems etc
- Liaise with Asset Owners and Stewards in relation to issues concerning asset data quality and completeness based on intelligence gathered from both internal and external systems (e.g. survey data)
- Contribute to formulation and implementation of standards and best practices relating to asset information management and provision, in accordance with, and supportive of, regulatory requirements and company objectives.
- Contribute to achieving the objectives and targets of the Asset Management Business plans
- Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the relevant Asset Data Specialist
- Participate in ongoing projects as required
- Keep up to date with best practice
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Uisce Éireann Asset Data operations across the business including Operations, Asset Management, Connection Development Services, Infrastructure Delivery Directorate, etc.
- Working knowledge of Maximo, GIS (ESRI Software Suite), Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), Power BI, Enterprise Data Historian (EDH), CCB is desirable
- Experience collaborating, influencing and engaging with key business stakeholders
- Asset Management certification is desirable
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
- Demonstrated people management experience, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in resolving challenges and promoting cross-functional ways of working within a team
- Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
- Experience using data analytics to challenge decisions and behaviours that don’t align with our values
- Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
- Ability to seek out ways to innovate and improve processes to improve service standards
- Experience in taking ownership of safety responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
